“SHARING BERGWIND powered by Education Africa®”

You are invited to spend this year’s GIVING TUESDAY evening with great people from South Africa! Tune in as “Sharing Bergwind” kicks off!

Education Africa, in collaboration with Friends of Education Africa in Europe, is proud to launch the first South African-European “Giving Circle” to promote social engagement and action for disadvantaged people and organisations from South Africa. Giving Circle is a worldwide trend for creating awareness around issues affecting societies and promoting social responsibility through joint dialogue.

Our goal is to host four “SHARING BERGWIND” Giving Circles a year, and we aim to build this into one of the leading Giving Circles in support of education in South Africa. We will introduce you to NGOs who will have the opportunity to present themselves and their organizations, as well as their goals, challenges and achievements. In this way, direct and real insights into the realities of life on the ground in South Africa can be created and examples of good practice can be shared and discussed.

We look forward to welcoming you and like-minded activists for change into our Circle.

On this Giving Tuesday, our local partner, Education Africa, will introduce itself first. It will be an entertaining hour on ZOOM with talks, short presentations and some vibrant music featuring a marimba band from one of Education Africa’s Marimba Hubs.

Education Africa NPO (www.educationafrica.org)  has been active in strengthening civil society and poverty alleviation through education in South Africa for nearly thirty years. Empowering underprivileged people and communities in the townships, and rural areas, of South Africa is the organization’s core mission. This can only be done in partnership and cooperation with other organizations and individuals. The resulting networks are constantly being expanded and offer a deep insight into the young South African democracy, its challenges and South African approaches to solving them.

We invite people from all over the world to get actively involved in social change in South Africa and engaging in “Giving Bergwind” as a platform!
